Video on "What is Happening to Luhmann's Zettelkasten?"

Here is a video about the digitization of Luhmann's Zettelkasten at the University of Bielefeld. Alas, it is in German. But some of the pictures may be interesting even if your German is less than perfect.

I never understood why Kieserling wouldn't go the route of Wiki Media: there's a portal where old or handwritten books are transcribed and translated by a community of enthusiasts. I bet that'd be cheaper and better PR. I know a former assistant of Kieserling who was on that project. Seems to be an issue of prestige and control. Really dumb. 15 years is half the time Luhmann took to write that mich, and it's not even guaranteed to help anyone with anything.

I don't understand it either.

I think that it is smart if you consider the context. For these scientists, it is more beneficial if they can extend such a project as long as possible.
